Rest (in blankets made from the water of our bodies) is a navigation of care, of what care is made from and of what remains to be cared for when little is left of the bodies who have provided it. The water of our bodies includes blood, sweat, tears, milk, spit, piss and amniotic fluid. It’s what we’re all born from, the amounts of each we receive from our caregivers shape us, and the amounts of each we offer our children shape them. Water is formed by what it encounters and forms what holds it over time, it leaks endlessly uncontainable like our bodies and our connections to one another. To shape the water from our bodies into a blanket to hold a loved one or what remains of them is an effort of endurance.
